What is the 2024 Bard Power Source?

Expanded spell list plus the ability to cherry pick from Wizard, Cleric, and Druid lists at level 10, its no longer clear what power source Bards use, especially in light of the UA that allowed them to choose whichever one they wanted.

Arcane because the 2014 Bard was Arcane in 2014, with possible dabbling in others?

Divine because they use the Words of Creation, the same thing used by the Gods? (First mentioned in the famous Book of Exalted Deeds).

Primal, is Primal still a thing in 2024 PHB?

Or your choice?

Or all of the above?
Puns.

Power sources in 5e/5.5e are fluff, so I'd keep bards arcane. That said, instead of drawing their power from the weave in the same manner as wizards, they'd do it through the power of the song of creation/first song.

Power Source is a think in the lore; Crawford discusses Arcane / Divine / Primal magic in the video.

Bards have Bardic Magic, which is your own thing. In 5e they've long been a bit sequestered from the 4 "Arcane Casters" who got the Arcane Weapon spells as soon as they were added.

Bardic Magic is the magic of the words of creation itself. And as a result, it can be understood through Arcane, Divine, Primal, Psionic, or other means.

I highly suspect that if we ever get a Psion class with its own Psionic Spell List, Bards will be able to tap into that spell list as well. Though I doubt it would be errata'd into Magic Initiate, but instead be a Psionic feat.
