For me it is three things. 1) We are zoomed in quite a bit on her, so it feels like she is larger than she might appear. 2) The booklet in her hand is small, compare with the other dwarves, who tend to have gear that is quite a bit larger. The sizing feels right for a small human pocketbook to me though. 3) There isn't as much braiding. Most of the dwarves have elaborate braiding and metal pieces segementing and holding their hair. Hers is in a flop held back by a headband.
None of it is definitive, it just adds up to a gut instinct.

I mean yes to 1, sure. I'm already trying to find a way to work this character into my game as an exalted Paladin of Asmodeus.
Based on the Dance Bard page we say in Ginny Ds video, the text in the book doesn’t call out the species. Just the subclass/class.

I suspect that Mercy Monk is going to be like a weird hidden Aasimar or something, and that some of those Elves might be only part-Elf.It really is the Human or Dwarf of it all for our differences, isn’t it

I don’t think WotC is going to differentiate the Elves. The reason they are dropping the mechanical half-species is to avoid the problematic phrasing. I don’t seem them announcing official art that way either.
Basically, regardless of if those elves have a human parent or not WotC is still going to treat them as elves either way.
And yes, Mercy is the only one now where I’m not certain they are human, but I’m counting them anyway until I see real evidence otherwise.
