"Out of the realm of possiblity" maybe, maybe not, but thst is a Dwarf.

Dwarves are Medium, just built stocky, like that character. She looks no more Human than the Cleric or Fighter Iconics do.
We aren’t gonna agree on Dwarves I guess, because if you told me the Fighter or Cleric was a small Human I’d have agreed.

The Dwarf in D&D just looks like short humans to me. So unless I see the Lore Bard having a shorter build, I’m not convinced she is a Dwarf.

1) Because it is awesome

2) Because she is one of the few old ladies in armor in fiction

One thing of note: usually D&D Beyond takes these art pieces and adds them to the character creator as possible portrait options and they sort them by Species. So some of these questions may get solid answers once the books drop on Beyond.
