Those looking forward to Modiphius' 2d20-based Star Trek Adventures may be excited to hear about a limited edition boxed set which contains a "1701-D" limited edition rulebook, miniatures, dice, tokens, a GM screen, geomorphic deck tiles, character sheets, and a poster map, Geek & Sundry is reporting. No details on price quite yet, but the pre-order opens on June 8th. But the best thing about it? It's shaped like a Borg Cube!
Modiphius has sent along a preview of some more of their upcoming Star Trek miniatures, along with some art from the tabletop roleplaying game. Both focus on the Romulans. There are currently four miniature sets lined up - The Original Series Crew, The Next Generation Crew, Klingons and Romulans. They’ll be available with the Star Trek Adventures pre-order which launches June 8. Also, check out the Original Series and Next Generation bridge crews here.
Over on Beasts of War, there's a look at Modiphius' new Star Trek miniatures. These are 32mm unpainted resin miniatures featuring the original Enterprise crew, and the Next Generation crew. The game - Star Trek Adventures - uses Modiphius' 2d20 system (which was used in their Conan RPG, amongst other games) and is due for release in August.
The public playtest for Modiphius' Star Trek Adventures tabletop RPG has launched worldwide with over 5,000 players in a storyline penned by writers including Dayton Ward (NYT bestselling author) and Scott Pearson. The living campaign will run until mid-2017, when the core rulebook is released, taking place in the unexplored Shackleton Expanse near Starbase 364. Different playtest experiences are available depending on which group playtesters signed up for, with different groups focusing on combat, diplomacy, and so on.
Modiphius' Kickstarter for Robert E. Howard's Conan Roleplaying Game closes this weekend. Right now it's at £304K ($438K), which means it's almost certainly going to end up in the top five RPG Kickstarters of all time. The latest bonus unlocked for backers is pretty cool -- "Modiphius can exclusively announce for ENWorld that having smashed the £300,000 level we have unlocked not only a free conversion guide from d20 to 2d20 for Conan fans but also all backers including 'Every Unlocked Book In PDF' (like the PDF Master or Print & PDF Master Pledges or PDF Subscription) now will get a bonus set of all the Conan d20 PDFS courtesy of Conan Properties."
Voted the 4th most anticipated roleplaying game of 2016, Modiphius' Robert E Howard’s CONAN Roleplaying game - Adventures In An Age Undreamed Of is based on the company's own 2d20 system. Brom is a name you may recognise from Dark Sun and other D&D settings, as well as the covers of novels from the likes of Moorcock. He's a pretty big deal in the world of fantasy art. Apparently, Modiphius had trouble getting Brom for this cover - he was unavailable when they first approached him, but circumstances have brought his schedule in line with the game's 2016 release date, and so we now have a cover to ogle at!
Some RPG companies score awesome license after awesome license. Green Ronin is one such company, and Margaret Weis Productions is another. Modiphius Entertainment has product lines for Thunderbirds, Conan, and more, and now Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter has a roleplaying game coming Christmas 2015, based on the 2d20 Lite system, a stremalined version of the system which powers their Mutant Chronicles and Conan games. Also lined up are miniatures in Spring 2016, and a board game in Summer 2016.
Modiphius Entertainment will be producing the newest Conan roleplaying game. Titled Robert E. Howard’s CONAN Adventures In An Age Undreamed Of, the game is planned for an August 2015 launch, and will focus on Howard's original stories using the 2d20 game system, the cinematic roleplaying rules devised by Jay Little (Star Wars: Edge of the Empire) for Mutant Chronicles. "Modiphius is already working on the roleplaying corebook for Robert E. Howard’s CONAN Adventures In An Age Undreamed Of to be released this Fall. A Kickstarter is planned for the summer to fund a larger range of roleplaying supplements, campaigns, and accessories to follow the core book."
