Paid Convention Games?

This is the first I've heard about this, but I'm definitely interested in hearing more.

I kept reading this as "goodman games good cause" and thought it was gonna be all DCC stuff. Disappointed :'(

A Title Much Cooler Than Anything on the Old Site
"GM Jiminy, who ran our demo game of Frumious Fantasy, was absolutely amazing! The system was solid and his mastery of it was unimpeachable. He was a respectful, fair, and imaginative referee, and gave everyone a fun and engaging game we won't forget! HOWEVER one of the plastic end caps on my chair was MISSING, so my chair was rocking back and forth a little the whole time, which was mildly annoying.
1 / 5 stars WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!"
Reading this as a review of DM on StartPlaying, which is almost exclusively for on-line games, makes this more hilarious.

People paid often close to.$100 for a con badge and then hundreds of dollars for travel and housing. Do they really drop games that often.

Like I said, I run a lot of games at cons and no-shows are exceedingly rare. But these are regional cons without the vast array of non-gaming options so maybe it is more common to have no shows at GenCon or Origins?
I've had no shows for about half the games I've run at local cons... usually one person. So, yeah, it's that «bleep»ing common, and inconsiderate, and annoying.
