OSR Looking for a set of OSR rules with more (more granular) combat options?

Check out “The Compleat Chainmail”.

I don’t know if it’s what you’re looking for, but it is Old School.

Using Chainmail rules for D&D means there are three types of combat: mass combat, person-to-person combat, and fantastic combat, and all three resolve fights differently.

Mass combat pits troop types against troop types (light infantry versus heavy cavalry, for example).

Person-to-person has a chart for attacking with weapon types against armor types—a dagger against an opponent wearing chainmail, for example.

Fantastic combat involves fights against monsters with a lot of hit dice. PCs need to be high level to even try.
