How Serious Do You Like Your Gaming?

Always pretty light hearted, it's game we play for fun. But there's plenty of serious bits too.

Normally I aim for serious (ish) stories. There will always be out of character jokes being told. We're friends hanging out, there should be jokes. But there'll always be space for in-character quips and silliness.

We're pretty serious. Sometimes we lose focus and pulla few jokes, but sooner or later someone says "lets get back to reality" and we get back to serious game mode.

It depends upon the system for me. I don't relish playing high verisimilitude systems like HarnMaster for laughs, for example.

Having run a few adventures...
The tone as written in older editions is absurdist and silly. Given part one, and a normal approach to Paranoia, you're likely to be annoyed before you even get out of character gen.

Simply put, the silly starts with your mutant power and your secret society, and only grows thereafter.
