There's the prestige ranger in UA. You only get 7 levels of casting over 15 levels, but it may be the flavor you want. Calm Animals is one of the pre-reqs. Druid or animal domain.
Looking at it, it might not be compatible with the Geomancer idea, but it could work with a more martial-themed build. Especially if I mix in something like a Battle Trickster.

Morkus from Orkus
I’m really at the beginning stages of this. All that I know for certain is that the character’s main alias will be “Willy Nilly”, that I’ll be using the Fey Heritage Feat tree, and that the character will be leaning into the trickster/chaos agent archetype a bit more than my previous Fey PC.

My first question is what (official) D&D PC races lend themselves to a classic Fey character? The list I’ve made so far:

Human
Elf
Drow
Half-Elf
Gnome
Killoren
Hengeyokai
Shadar-Kai
Tabaxi
Kenku

All ideas & commentary welcome.
I made a character in 3.5e that was human, but really short. Like jockey short. Then I gave him fey blooded from the Unearthed Arcana, which gave him a few fey like abilities as he leveled up. I chose Ranger/Sorcerer for his classes. Primarily Ranger with a splash of Sorcerer to give him a few more innate spells to represent the fey blood within. Lastly, there was a feat from a third party source called small stature or something like that which caused him to be considered small size, not medium. He was a blast to play.

There's also the half-fey template from one of the monster books. Can't remember which one offhand.
