D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

Whatever the question is, the answer is always Greyhawk!

I kid. But, um, Tharizdun was trapped in GH (WG4). The forces have trapped him in Greyspace. The mortal of Oerth are forsaken...

Just use the Greyhawk setting and map, and dystopify it.

Add a few custom rules (gods have forsaken, so no cleric casting?) and you should be all set.

IMO.
I thought you didn't use the Elder Elemental Eye's name, Snarf!

Broken Weave would be perfect, I reckon.
I don't mind the magic and decay relationship in Broken Weave but the four races being tied to the elements (Dwarves are linked to fire, Elves to earth, Halflings to water, and Humans to wind) somehow seems a bit goofy for me.

To answer the OP's question seriously, I think it would be interesting to consider thari- err, the EEE, as actual intelligence behind the Dragon of Tyr, and to make all of Dark Sun his dead and dying world.

I think you could ignore that (or refluff it or explain it away) easily enough.

Because aside from that, it seems to have pretty much everything you want, especially fractured / distorted time and reality.

It's a little out of date, but White Wolf's Scarred Lands could be perfect for you with a little lore rewrite. The whole setting is a mess from a titans vs gods war.
