So, picking up on that other thread on Tiamat. This ancient being of chaos was one of the few, if not the only, female unique named being in the AD&D monster manual.
So the real sexism is that she was the token (and perhaps the heart) of high level monsters.
But then Gygax gets to work. One after another, he adds powerful unique beings that are female, and puts them in adventures. In some they are even stated up to kill the PCs! In one its just a reference, but then her daughter is there! (Though probably not killing the PCs, its not that easy an encounter to make the most of). AND he puts Tiamat on TV! Did the platinum dragon regularly appear on network television?
