I can offer some German language games: Das Schwarze Auge (far bigger then the other two) , Hexxen 1733 and Die Schwarze Katze. They obviously are nowhere as big as international games given that they are for a German language audience but they all have been doing one or more yearly crowdfundings for several books at the same time.I would suggest looking at Cypher and Monte Cook as one of the most successful KS-funded RPGs. They run at least one Cypher related campaign a year.
You don't need to be a member of the millionaire kickstarter club to have a successfully game line. You need a dedicated base that supports you crowdfunding campaigns for years. And that base doesn't even need to be super high in numbers. Hexxen 1733 made it to more then 30 Hardcover books plus a lot more stuff books with roughly 450-600 backers per crowdfunding.
What some of the very successful RPG kickstarters often fail at is continuing support (especially adventures) for their games.
Imho the real success stories are the games that don't have just one big crowdfunding success but mange to repeat that success several times and make a game line this way.
Still back to the topic. That DC20 kickstarter hit me by surprise. A member of the million club in barely 4-5 days ?
Its impressive and it is nice to see that new rpgs can create this kind of success.
