Dungeons & Dragons – Dungeon Master's Screen (2024)
Every adventure needs a Dungeon Master to bring fantastical worlds and epic quests to life. Every Dungeon Master needs their quintessential companion – the Dungeon Master’s Screen. The 2024 Dungeon Master’s Screen features a spectacular panoramic scene by Joy Ang depicting every core class of fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons®. The interior rules content on this new screen has been revised and refreshed to deliver the most useful information to any DM in their games.

Contents:
  • The four-panel screen helps the DM keep notes and dice roles hidden, without getting in the way of seeing and interacting with players around the table.
  • Newly revised interior based on ten years of Dungeon Master feedback, providing them with the most useful at-a-glance reference material during play.
  • An excellent resource for new and existing Dungeons Masters to facilitate inspired adventures and an engaging play experience. For use with the fifth edition Player’s Handbook® (2024), Monster Manual® (2024), and Dungeon Master’s Guide®.

The estimated release date is listed as Sept 26th.

I never really used a DM screen. They get in the way and build a wall between me and my players. Which is a shame, because they are so pretty!
I love the idea of a DM screen.. Just the image of the classic Dungeon Master, looking out at their table from behind the screen.. All of their secrets stored just out of sight.

When I started running my game I purchased a portrait one, but I felt like it was too big.. Too in the way.

So I purchased a landscape one. Still though.. It gets in the way.

I'd love to have a screen just for the ~~vibes~~ but it just doesn't work out in practice.

I probably won't be purchasing this product, but I'll be keeping an eye out for a potential alt art version to match the other books.

I too like the idea of the screen. They never seem to have any relevant information on them.
I like the the sense that they convey that the DM is the arbiter of mystery and suspense. The sense of OVERWHELMING POWER and MASTERY OVER ALL is intoxicating!!! MWAH HA HA!!!

Also, I hang my initiative tracking markers on them and any short term reminders. Post it notes are your friend.

Yeah.. The first one I purchased had pockets so I could insert my own information. I never thought of anything to put in there though.

I don't know what information I really want on the DM screen. I have a page in my binder dedicated to names, and perhaps that's something I'd put on there, but it works just as well in my binder.

Sticky notes are the answer. Usually it's just reminders for things I need to remember in that session.

My dream DM screen has index card sized pockets, so I can fill out stuff on a card and slide it in and out of pockets on the screen.

Hey all,

It doesn't look like this has already posted. Apologies in advance if it has. A local NZ online retailer has new DM screen up for pre-order. Here's what it looks like:

Are tehy usually 4-panel designs? I thought they were 3 panel previously. I like the idea of getting more info on the inside of the screen. Though I have always just made my own if I needed one.

I do really like the art on this one, I may pick it up just for that.

I have the same concern; I've used the landscape ones with some success, but they're still a bit obstructive for making rolls in front of the players, which is how I prefer to do most combat rolls.

Have you considered going even smaller? Professor DM on YouTube has done a couple of tutorials on crafting 4"-6" high DM screens. His original lo-fi design from six years ago used CD cases, but he did a more elaborate city/town-scape one recently.
