Level Up (A5E) Does the Adventuring Day Rules Cover Exploration or Social Encounters?

So I think A5E's new Adventuring Day guidelines in Trials & Treasures are a fantastic tweak to O5E. Reducing in earlier levels the number of encounters a party is expected to go through in one Long Rest and increasing it in later levels makes the game's pacing far better in my opinion. But there's one thing that's been bugging me: Do the encounter points for an adventuring day for each tier take non-combat encounters in consideration? "6-8 encounters a day makes sense if you include exploration and social interaction!" was a common argument in O5E (though I don't think it was particularly convincing), but the way I read T&T, it sounds like the Adventuring Day in A5E is only for combat encounters. This makes sense for social encounters since those don't usually expend any resources and the adventuring day is all about resource management... But then do we not count exploration challenges as well? If you were a hypothetical mad Narrator who wanted to lay out the number of total encounters a party will go through from Level 1 to 20 across an entire campaign (not that I'd do that... cough), how would you factor in exploration and social encounters?

Exploration challenges have CRs. You just treat them like a monster!
That they do! And I have to that that is super useful when trying to spice up combat by placing it within an exploration challenge. But would you recommend assigning CRs to social encounters as well, or keep them outside of the adventuring day's scope?

Social encounters aren’t intended to expend resources. If they do, they’ve turned into a monster encounter!

How are rests handled during exploration encounters? The larger challenges can take more than a day.

I guess it'd be helpful to have a couple different examples of play re: what could be done with them- Sunspots for instance can take place over days. Lets say 3 days: When the players want to try solutions, is it 1/day? or as soon as the sunspots start, can they make their checks to solve it, are not unhindered, and it has no effect on them for the rest of their travel through the region?

I know that GM adjudication is a lot of it, but intent/guidelines to use or ignore are helpful!
